A Chris Robinson film shared a teaser for the long-awaited sequel.

Fifteen years later, An ATL reboot has been confirmed. On Friday (Aug. 27), Chris Robinson, who directed the original 2006 film, shared the first look at its forthcoming sequel, ATL 2: Homecoming. The mini-trailer features all original cast members.
Just two days after Chris Robinson, the award-winning music video director responded to Chance the Rapper, who tweeted on Wednesday (Aug. 25) that ATL “never truly got its flowers.” In the tweet, Chance went on to say that the cult classic is “probably the most quotable movie from [his] childhood.”
Robinson tagged Chance in his Instagram post on Friday, writing, “HEY [Chance the Rapper]. WHAT IF........ WE DID IT ONE MORE TIME.”
Jackie Long, who starred in the original ATL as Esquire, also shared the trailer online and mentioned Chance.
The original ATL opened at No. 3 at the box office and grossed around $21 million by the end of its theatrical run. T.I. played the main character Rashad in the coming-of-age film, which is loosely based on the experiences of the film’s producers, Dallas Austin and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins.
