Dr. Dre’s star will be placed at 6840 Hollywood Blvd., where it will sit next to longtime friend, and fellow hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg.
Dr. Dre to receive star right next to Snoop Dogg on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Dr. Dre to receive star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Also expected to speak at the event' business partner and Interscope Records co-founder, Jimmy Iovine, will join Snoop as a speaker.
On Monday, (March 12), The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced that the N.W.A. legend will be honored with the 2,775th star on Hollywood Blvd., and he’ll be right next to his former The Chronic collaborator.
Dr. Dre’s star will be unveiled on March 19, and he’ll be honored in the category of Recording.
“Dr. Dre’s contributions to the music industry are undeniable and have left an indelible mark on popular culture,” said Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in a statement. “As a producer, rapper, and entrepreneur, Dr. Dre has continuously pushed boundaries and set new standards for excellence. It is with great pride that we honor his incredible career and extraordinary impact by awarding him a star on the Walk of Fame.”
She continued: “Dr. Dre’s star will serve as a lasting symbol of his immense talent and enduring legacy in the world of music. What is special regarding the location chosen for Dr. Dre’s star is that it will be next to the star of his long-time friend Snoop Dogg!”
Also, the late Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), and Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once) were named to be inducted for this year's Walk of Fame.
Beloved actor Boseman will receive a posthumous star along with icon soul singer Otis Redding.
In a statement by the organization, Chair of the Walk of Fame Selection Panel and radio personality Elle K stated, "The Selection Committee, which is made up of fellow Walk of Famers, carefully hand-picks a group of honorees each year that represent various genres of the entertainment world."
