Nicki Minaj appears to be putting together a star-studded posse cut bringing the real r&b back.
Nicki Minaj Teases New Music W/ Brandy, Tamar Braxton & Keke Wyatt
Nicki Minaj teased new music that featured music veterans Brandy, Tamar Braxton, and Keke Wyatt.
Nicki Minaj teams up with three R&B songstresses for an upcoming collaboration. On Friday (Sept. 10), the Queen shared a snippet of a new track that featured audio of Brandy, Tamar Braxton, and Keke Wyatt harmonizing from her studio.
Nicki reveals she was working on new music, but needed some help from R&B stars. She called on her fans to reach out to Keke Wyatt, Tamar Braxton, or Brandy, as well as younger artists such as Summer Walker, Kehlani, and Jhené Aiko.
"Summer, Jhene & Kehlani can be good in the blend as well with their harmonies," she tweeted.
“Barbz: ask Keke, Tamar & Brandy to redo this,” she tweeted. “That’s what I sound like in my head. Would love to hear ppl who can rlly do it [...] Summer, Jhené & Kehlani can be good in the blend as well with their harmonies.”
Kehlani caught wind of Nicki’s tweets, and asked for more clarification. Nicki then explained she was “challenging” the six artists to record a cappella; she will then take the vocals and put something “special together.”
Summer Walker was seemingly intrigued, and said she would “love” to be involved.
All of this will come as welcome news to Nicki Minaj fans, who have been waiting three years for a new album from Young Money’s First Lady. Her last full-length effort, the platinum-certified Queen, arrived back in 2018.
It's unclear what Nicki plans to release, but indicated she will do something similar with her fellow female rappers.
Stay tuned.
