Weezy has teased something "very special in store for the city of New Orleans after the NFL snubbed him.

Weezy confirms on Tuesday (Feb. 4.) that he will be absent from Super Bowl LIX, despite the big game taking place in his hometown. The New Orleans native announced it on Instagram Stories. He gave a shout-out to The Big Easy and hinted that someone would need to fill his seat at the event.
“I got something exciting coming for you… Till then, I’m just chillin’.” Wayne also teased a special surprise on Thursday, February 6, encouraging fans to stay tuned for what’s next.
Instead, Kendrick Lamar was chosen as the 2025 Super Bowl halftime performer, but his selection sparked mixed reactions in the hip-hop community. Many felt Lil Wayne, a New Orleans native, had been overlooked by Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, which produces the show. Fans hoped for a Kendrick-Lil Wayne collaboration, especially since they have a track together, “Mona Lisa.”
SZA is the only confirmed guest for Kendrick’s performance. The rest of the setlist remains a closely guarded secret. Although Wayne won’t be part of the Super Bowl stage, fans can expect something major from him soon.
