Atlanta City Council member Andre Dickens won Tuesday night runoff election over City Council President Felicia Moore.
Andre Dickens earned more than 60 percent of the vote over City Council President Felicia Moore.
Dickens run-off election night watch party took place at The Gathering Spot in Atlanta, Georgia, with Atlanta's very own Tip “T.I.’ Harris (left) and Jeezy on the (right).
Dickens won a campaign dominated by concern over rising violent crime in the city. Dickens repeatedly said this year’s election was for the city’s soul.
“My opponent is homelessness, hopelessness, joblessness, racism, poverty, violence,” Dickens said. “My opponent requires all of us, and that’s what we’re fighting against.
“If any city in the world can face this issue, it’s Atlanta.”
