‘The devil is busy’: Jamie Foxx comments after altercation left him injured
Jamie Foxx required stitches after getting hit in the face with a glass while celebrating his birthday at a restaurant in Beverly Hills, California, a representative for the actor told the Los Angeles Times on Friday (Dec. 13).
According to TMZ, the Hollywood actor and comedian was hosting a birthday dinner at Mr. Chow's in Beverly Hills when a table nearby was "being rude and vulgar" to Foxx, who asked them to stop while in the presence of his family. A commotion was caused when the actor, comedian and singer was allegedly struck in the mouth with a glass by someone from the neighboring table, causing Foxx to get stitches. A source also told TMZ that Foxx left the scene before police arrived at 10 p.m., but that his name was listed for contact.
On Sunday, Dec. 15, Foxx addressed the reports on Instagram, posting a message that read, "The devil is busy... but I'm too blessed to be stressed."
"The devil is a lie. Can’t win here… thank you to everybody that pray and check on me… when your light is shining bright… they try to bring you darkness … but they don’t know that you’re built for it…" he captioned the post.

A spokesperson for Foxx confirmed to PEOPLE on Sunday (December 15), that Foxx was "recovering" after someone "threw a glass that hit him in the mouth."
Foxx thanked fans for their support after reports surfaced that he got into an altercation on his 57th birthday.
