J. Cole Revealed As ‘NBA 2K23’ Cover Star for Special ‘DREAMER’ Edition

The Fayetteville, N.C native is the cover star for NBA 2K23’s Dreamer Edition. This version of the game will be available at Gamestop in the U.S. and Canada. He will also be a character in the game’s MyCareer mode. Fellow Dreamville artists Bas and Elite will help players befriend Cole.

2K Sports announced on Thursday (September 1) that the Dreamville founder is the official cover athlete of the NBA 2K23 DREAMER Edition, which will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox X/S at GameStop in the U.S. and Canada on September 9.

“This shit crazy,” Cole wrote on Twitter while sharing the historic cover, which shows him perched on a floating basketball court in the skies surrounded by clouds. “NBA2K23 cover. [exploding head emojis] DREAMER @NBA2K.”

I can almost hear Mark Phillips of RDC World saying, “Jermaine! Cole!” Here is a look at the cover that is sure to become a must-have for Cole-2K fans.

NBA 2K has long been a place to discover new musical talent through their game and continues to be a gold standard for showcasing all things basketball culture,” J. Cole said in a statement. “It’s been an amazing journey to not only appear on a cover of this year’s game, but to be part of the MyCAREER storyline, soundtrack and bring the Dreamer brand into NBA 2K.”

The game’s soundtrack includes songs by Lil Baby and Drake, Jack Harlow, Megan Thee Stallion, Polo G, Dreamville’s JID, and many more.

2K announced new songs will be added to the game every Friday, expanding the depth and breath of the soundtrack. Cole’s Dreamville label was a major partner in building out the game’s musical identity.
