Hip-Hop community reacts to Drake's “Mob Ties” song alleged written by singer Vory, Reference track leak

Vory and PartyNextDoor were listed as co-writers on 'Scorpion' tracks "Mob Ties" and "Ratchet Happy Birthday," respectively.

The alleged reference track is not yet known and neither Drake nor Vory have commented on its veracity.

Leaked reference track has Vory performing Drake’s “Mob Ties”

Folks on Twitter X claiming that Toronto rapper didn’t write his own song, especially when it’s personal in nature or regularly cited as among their best work, is a serious accusation in the hip-hop world. Drizzy's is facing such an allegation right now, about his 2018 Scorpion highlight “Mob Ties.”

On Tuesday (May 28), Complex reported, Akademiks said he had heard that it was actually Meek Mill's former Dream Chasers artist, Vory who wrote the song. Vory, by the way, is actually credited as a co-writer on the released song.

Apparently “Mob Ties” reference track by Vory has leaked, adding credence to Akademiks’ claim. The reference track is largely the same as the version that appears on Scorpion, but it does contain some differences.

The track was recently given a specific mentioned from Akademiks amid the then-active back-and-forth between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. During a previous appearance on Joe Budden’s podcast, Akademiks said it would “hurt my heart” to hear that Drake “got some help” on the song.
