‘Friday’ cast reacts to co-star Anthony Johnson’s tragic passing: DJ Pooh, Ice Cube And More

Ice Cube (Craig), Angela Means (Felisha), DJ Pooh (Red), Paula Jai Parker (Joi), Faizon Love (Big Worm) and Kathleen Bradley (Mrs. Parker) is mourning the loss of AJ Johnson.

Comedian & Actor Anthony Johnson, Known for 'Friday', I Got the Hook-Up, 'The Players Club', 'House Party' Roles, Dead at 55
TMZ reports, on Monday September 20 that AJ Johnson nephew found the actor unresponsive inside a Los Angeles store earlier this month. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His cause of death has not yet been released.
Johnson’s rep, LyNea Bell, confirmed his passing to the Hollywood Reporter. “We lost an icon. He will be greatly missed,” Bell said.
Born in 1965 in Compton, Calif., The comedian was found “lifeless” at a Los Angeles store earlier this month. Johnson was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was tragically pronounced dead. He was 55 years old.
After the news broke ‘Friday’ cast members immediately took to social media to pay their respects.
Johnson appeared in episodes of “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “Martin,” “Def Comedy Jam,” “South Central,” “The Parent ‘Hood,” “Moesha,” “Malcom & Eddie” and “The Jamie Foxx Show” throughout his career.
Johnson was known for doing standup comedy routines in bars and clubs around Los Angeles after rising to fame in the ’90s.
He also appeared in multiple music videos, playing Sleazy-E, a parody character of Easy-E, in Dr. Dre’s “Dre Day” in 1992, and reprising the role in Eazy-E’s video for “Real Muthaphuckkin G’s” in 1993.
