According Environment Canada, the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding regions received approximately 4 inches of rain on Tuesday (July 16), marking the fifth wettest day on record since 1938. This total surpasses the typical July average of 2.9 inches for the entire month.
“We’ve received more than a month’s worth in a day,” Environment Canada meteorologist Trudy Kidd said in a statement. The heavy rainfall, combined with winds nearing 55 mph, led to power outages, disruptions to transit service, road closures, and other issues for residents.
Torrential rainfall has reportedly left over 100,000 Canadian citizens without power.

Back in October, the Toronto rapper shelled out $15 million to purchase The Inn at Dos Brisas, a 313-acre ranch in Brenham, a small town about two hours south of Dallas.
According to Texas Monthly, the ranch includes a 14,300-square-foot house alongside several haciendas and casitas. Among the other perks are a cellar featuring 7,000 bottles of wine, a shooting range, multiple basketball courts and tennis courts, a stable, a riding ring, and herds of horses.
In Addition to the flood, CBC News reported there were 167,000 customers without power, according to Toronto Hydro, the city's electricity distribution system. The rainfall required people to be rescued and caused cars to be swamped across the city.
